Wöhler GS 300 Gas Leak Detector

Brand:

  • Wöhler

Whether cracks in the line or outdated seals: Even the smallest leaks in natural gas lines can cause major problems. Once a leak has been detected, e.g. with a gas leak detector, the gas tracker helps to locate the gas leak. This way, leaks, which often occur at the connection points and at the consumer connection, can be precisely located. In addition to the serviceability test on gas lines, the inspection of the visible part of a gas installation can thus be carried out easily, quickly and reliably.

How can a gas leak be localized?
A still used, but dangerous procedure is to check gas lines with a fire lighter. Certainly more common is the use of so-called leak foam, which produces bubbles as soon as a leak is detected. More contemporary in gas leak detection is the use of a gas leak detector, also called a gas sniffer.
How does a gas leak detector work?
To locate leaks in gas lines, the visible connection points and the gas appliance connection are slowly and completely traced. As the gas sniffer approaches a leak, the bar graph display shows the corresponding gas concentration and the signal tone rate or vibration frequency increases in proportion to the gas concentration.
How can a gas leak be prevented?
Even though gas is considered dangerous, a few considerations can ensure that all appliances are functioning properly. Once a year, professionals should check the appliances to make sure they are working properly. In general, it is important to be alert to increased gas consumption or the smell of gas. There could be a leak here.
